New moisturizing spritz

I mix the above conditioner with water and aloe vera juice.
That's it!
It works so well! My hair is soft, smooth and hydrated!
I give it 5 stars and it is cheap (the conditioner is only 99p)
The added bonus of no silicones is much appreciated.

More product reviews to come: this is GREAT for co-washing also!

Trying out some Ceramides!

At the moment, I'm trying this out as a leave-in instead of a washout conditioner as I find it gives my hair a nice boost in moisture, doesn't weigh it down too much (transitioning and texlaxed) and I can seal it in with oils like castor oil with great results. I used it to pull my hair back into a donut bun yesterday evening and I loved that my hair is softer but not sticking together.

The first one I used which I use for co-washes as a second (final) co-wash before rinsing and air-drying is also by L'oreal and it claims to have ceramide cement in it.

Why ceramides, you ask?

What are Ceramides

Ceramides are lipid molecules [lipids are non-water soluble compounds that are essential for cellular development.] Ceramides naturally protect the skin from moisture loss.

What does that have to do with hair?

Well, the same thing that ceramides do for your skin. They create a protective barrier around your hair to hold in moisture and protein, while simultaneously guarding your hair against the “bad things.” [e.g., heat damage, u/v rays, chemical processes.] They basically anchor protein to your hair and act as a shield around the hair shaft.

My Cinna-bun!!!

So I tried out this style and it was lovely! Loads of compliments all round!
Felt like my hair was my CROWNING GLORY!

Hair One ...OMG!!

So good! My hair soaked this up as I used it to moisturize my hair before putting it in a bun!

I bought a big bottle of the Hair One for color treated hair because it has jojoba oil added.

Only £5.99 and what an investment! So good, I thought about running out to get another one even though it would be a 30-40 minute journey to the BSS (at least 20mins of it on foot)!!!

So, it was creamy when I squirted a bit from the pump but it goes on SMOOTH. And it does not overwhelm the hair and make it limp and wet. Just moisturized and melted away the tangles. It is great!

Have you tried this or WEN (which it is based on) and how have you found this as a cleanser or leave-in conditioner?

Wow....I'm Transitioning!!!! (MUST READ!!!)

I've decided in this past week that there is no better time than the present to start transitioning to natural!

After all, I won't be using heat this year and I plan to stretch texlaxes so why not see what my natural hair looks like?

Thanks to Sunshyne and other Youtubers, i've learnt how to bun and keep my hair flat and smooth yet soft with the scarf method and airdrying. I also would like ALOT more thickness when I do twistouts and braidouts (right to the ends),

Futhermore, I have been relaxed (in some shape or form) since I was 6 years old. This August would make 20 years relaxed, lets give the natural me a chance.
I'll be honest, I love me some texlaxed hair. (I haven't loved my hair this much in years - the cute way a child loves her hair!!!). However, I LOVE the thickness my new growth has and I have been stalking fotkis and youtube for inspiration. I also ordered two natural haircare books (I'm a reader too - lol ): "Going Natural" and "Thank God I'm Natural".

I intend to transition for 2 years minimum like this lovely lady: http://members.fotki.com/lifesacatwalk/about/
No Big Chop for me, just dusting and length checks without heat (stretching hair!)
I'm so excited to be embarking on this new leg of my journey using no heat styling a la Bronzeg (shout out to you, girl!)

Well, enough rambling! Wish me luck, ladies!

Crochet braids: a protective style

I uploaded a new video on how to do crochet braids to get a nice big, curly afro look!

My hair is cornrowed away underneath. I have a water, glycerin, rosewater mix with rosemary oil and tea tree oil for fragrance, soothing and antiseptic properties.

Below is a link to the video!

Tutorials and Product reviews: coming soon!

Happy New Year!
This year, I'm planning ot find ways to integrate this blog with my Youtube channel!
I will also be going for NO HEAT styles for maximum length retention (remember, all hair grows, but the ends don't always do so well!) Products I've ordered and am awaiting (with bated breath - lol!) are Cantu Shea butter leave-in conditioner, Herbal Essences Long term relationship leave-in and my Afroveda Vata hair collection.
I will be reviewing these products accordingly, in this blog and on my Youtube channel.
Here's a link to my channel:

Hope this helps and I will be back very soon, by God's Grace.
